Buying a New Computer
Am I required to bring a computer to campus?
Although most students bring at least one computer to campus, owning a computer is not a requirement except in certain majors. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) still operates several computer labs, but none are located within the residence halls. Most students find it more convenient to have their own computers. For information about the labs, go to http://scc.osu.edu.
What type of computer should I buy?
Unless your academic/major department has a recommendation, bring whatever you like or are most familiar with. The university offers support for both Macs and PCs. More students living in the residence halls are now bringing laptops due to space limitations and wireless availability within the halls.
