NOTE: Do NOT register your PS3 as a game station. The PS3 Web Browser allows you to log on to the Resnet system with your standard OSU name.n and password.

Microsoft XBOX

1. Insert your Xbox Live DVD into the drive. The software will automatically run and update the Xbox dashboard to show the Xbox Live option. Once this is complete, eject the CD and make sure you have your network cable plugged into your Xbox and in the network port in your room. Open the Xbox Live menu (See Screen Shot).

2. Go to the Network Setup menu (See Screen Shot).

3. In the lower right corner of the screen you will see "MAC=" followed by a combination of 12 numbers and letters (See Screen Shot). IMPORTANT: Write down this number as you will need it during the registration process.

4. Go to The Game Station Registration Page . You will need to use your OSU name.N to complete the resistration page. Once there you'll need to enter the MAC address from your game station.

5. Make sure your console is set to use DHCP and that no network numbers ir IP addresses have been set, as ResNet uses DHCP for connectivity.

6. Once approved (usually within one business day), go back into the Xbox Live menu and then select Network Settings. Scroll down and open the Connect menu. This will open a diagnostic menu pictured below that verifies that a connection can be made to the Xbox Live service (See Screen Shot).

7. You should now have access. To test the configuration, load an Xbox Live enabled game. For more help with Xbox Live visit the official web site at xbox.com


Sony PlayStation 2

Before registering your PS2, you must first install the network adapter as described in the installation guide or on the PlayStation2 Network Adapter Web site. Once you have the network adapter installed you are ready to begin the ISP Setup process.

1. Turn on the PS2 and insert the Network Adaptor Startup Disc.

2. Once the menu has appeared, press X to enter the ISP Setup.

3. Once it has loaded, press X to continue.

4. Your PS2 will search for the network adapter.

5. After the network adapter has been found, press X to continue.

6. Press X again to continue.

7. Wait while the data is accessed.

8. Select New and then press X to continue.

9. Type a name for your ISP setting. For example- UNI, but you can name it whatever you want.

10. When asked if you currently subscribe to an ISP service, select Yes and press X to continue.

11. For connection type, choose High speed connection (cable or DSL) and press X to continue.

12. Select Automatic Settings and press X to continue.

13. When asked if you ISP requires a User ID and Password, select No and press X to continue.

14. When asked if your Internet Service Provider requires you to input a DHCP Host Name, select No. Unplug your network cable from the PS2, and press X to continue (Unplugging your cable will cause the test to fail, which causes the PS2 to display your MAC address).

15. The network connection test will fail. Do not press X or Triangle. Press Select to see the error message. (See Screen Shot)

16. The Network Adapter / MAC address will be displayed. The address is a combination of 12 numbers and letters. For example: 00 0F 1F 05 20 02. Write the MAC address down.(See Screen Shot)

17. Go to The Game Station Registration Page . You will need to use your OSU name.N to complete the resistration page. Once there you'll need to enter the MAC address from your game station.

18. To test the connection, you will need to restart the ISP Setup program. Perform steps 1 through 14 above, but do NOT unplug the network cable this time.

19. Once the test is successful, press X and save the configuration to the memory card.

20. The network configuration will be saved to the memory card. Do not remove the network card while this information is being saved.

21. Your PS2 should now be configured correctly and you should now be able to start playing online. Press X to return to the main menu.

22. To test out your connection, you can choose Demos and press X to continue.

23. Follow the instructions on screen to play an online game demo. For further information regarding the PS2 online service visit the official web site at PLAYSTATION.com

 


Nintendo GameCube

 

1. Remove the GameCube’s broadband adapter from the console.

2. Printed on the underside of the adaptor is a MAC address. Write this down.

3. Go to The Game Station Registration Page . You will need to use your OSU name.N to complete the resistration page. Once there you'll need to enter the MAC address from your game station.

4. Once approved you should be online. To test internet connection, insert a Memory Card with 31 blocks available, and insert a game with online capabilities, such as Phantasy Star Online.
